Ward-Humphrey General Contractors completed the renovation and conversion of an existing five-story, 95,000-square-foot office building into Cobb Horizon High School, an alternative high school for the Cobb County School District.

The project included a full interior build-out to support an active learning environment, with new classrooms, administrative offices, multiple restrooms, a cafeteria, fitness room, and student support spaces. Major upgrades were made to the building’s electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, including the removal and replacement of deteriorated sanitary risers.

Additional scope included the construction of a new second-floor exterior emergency exit and stairway, along with all new gypsum board partitions, suspended acoustical ceilings, wall finishes, and flooring throughout. An extensive low-voltage infrastructure was also installed to support a state-of-the-art online learning center.

Delivered on an accelerated schedule, this project reflects Ward-Humphrey’s experience transforming existing structures into modern, high-performance educational facilities that meet the evolving needs of students and educators.
