Ward-Humphrey General Contractors completed the transformation of the historic Hickory Flat Gymnasium into a modern community center for the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners.

Originally constructed in 1950, the 9,663-square-foot gymnasium was renovated to support expanded community use while preserving its historic character. The project included the installation of a new roof and siding, refinishing of the basketball court, construction of a new stage, concessions, and restrooms, and the addition of a new HVAC system to improve comfort and functionality.

This renovation revitalized a long-standing community asset and reflects Ward-Humphrey’s experience delivering thoughtful upgrades to historic and civic facilities while meeting modern performance standards and community needs.
